ITZA Vault is designed as a privacy-first identity verification platform. We believe individuals should control their own identity data and should not be forced to repeatedly share sensitive documents with multiple services.
To achieve this, we follow strict data minimization principles. Personal information stays primarily on the user's device. The platform operates mainly through secure proofs, confirmations, authorization logic, and status records rather than central storage of raw personal documents.
Information We Collect
1. Information Collected During Verification
When you complete an identity verification with an approved Agent:
- You enter information into the ITZA Vault app.
- The Agent physically reviews your government-issued ID and confirms the match in person.
- A cryptographic proof of the successful verification is created.
Important: Your raw personal documents and detailed identity information remain stored only on your mobile device. They are not uploaded to or stored on our central systems.
2. Platform and Usage Information
We may collect limited operational data such as:
- Account status and verification status
- Authorization records when you approve sharing your verification status with a business
- Technical logs for security, fraud prevention, and platform integrity
- Basic usage analytics to improve the service
How We Use Your Information
We use the limited information we hold only to:
- Provide and maintain the verification and reuse functionality
- Generate and validate secure cryptographic proofs
- Manage verification status and revocation when necessary
- Comply with legal and regulatory obligations
- Protect the security and integrity of the platform
Information Sharing
We do not sell your personal information.
We may share verification status or proof only when you explicitly authorize it through the app. In such cases, the business receives only confirmation of a valid prior verification - not your raw personal documents.
We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect our rights, or in connection with a merger or acquisition (subject to equivalent privacy protections).
Data Retention
We retain only the minimum data necessary for platform operation, compliance, and security. Verification proofs and status records are kept only as long as they remain relevant and valid under platform rules.
You may request deletion of your account and associated status records by contacting us. Note that certain records may need to be retained for legal or compliance reasons.
Your Rights and Choices
You have the right to:
- Access, correct, or delete your account information
- Withdraw consent for specific authorizations
- Request that we stop processing your data where applicable
